Excursion 1: Walking tour in Tokyo

  • You can choose the favorite course from the follows:

    • course A: Meet EDO (Asakusa)
    course B: Shoping in Akihabara (Akihabara)
    course C-1: Tokyo Now! (Odaiba seaside area)
    course C-2: Hot springs (Hot springs theme park)

  • It is handed an application form in a reception. Please make entry of the hope of the course, and tour conductor gathers the form on Sunday 15th July.
  • Only transportation and admission fees are included in the expense. Other (ie meals, drinks,) are individual payment.
  • For reasons of the delay of conference progress, the weather or the traffic condition of the day, the course may be changed.
  • CAUTION!!
    Persons staying at cosmosu Kaikan,     departure from Musashisakai bus stop 22：05 is the last bus of the day. Only a taxi is transportation when you miss the last bass. (Taxi fees are expensive.) Please be careful.

course A: Meet EDO

Fukagawa-Edo museum, ASAKUSA(Kaminari-mon, Nakamise)

There is life-sized reconstruction of Edo city in the museum. Various effects make Edo atmosphere. You can feel Edo life.

*Kaminarimon & Nakamise =Free time: about 2hour=
Kaminarimon(Thunder Gate) is a gate of Sensoji Temple. Giant red lantern and statues of guardian gods Raijin (god of thunder) and Fujin (god of wind) are there. Nakamise is shop arcade in the approach to Sensoji Temple. It is old shoping center for visitor of the temple since Edo priod. Many Japanesque goods or foods are sold now.

*Kanda Myojin (shrine) =Free time: about 1hour=
Kanda Myojin is one of the most famous shrines in Japan. There are a variety of charms(OMAMORI) for safe driving, business success and good health etc. 'OMAMORI for computer's safety' is specific design to Kanda Myojin near Akihabara.

Optional short tour: *Origami Kaikan Center
The Origami Kaikan(Center) was established during the Ansei (Edo) Period in 1859 and was originally a store for dyeing and manufacturing "washi" papers. You can see origamic craft and buy washi papers and books. There is near Kanda Myojin.

Inside the building, constructed in traditional Japanese style, there are baths, open-air baths and a foot bath set in a large Japanese-style garden. There is also a traditional street of Edo. You wear Yukata(Kimono) and enjoy eating or shoping.
